Why your life is really in crisis

I’ve always had something to say. Writing has always come easily to me. But when I decided to start writing about my life as a mom and homeschooler my voice sort of went numb.

There’s great intimidation in talking about motherhood and education. Often the speaker is a type A, orderly, has her life together kind of woman. She’d probably be CEO of some great company if she weren’t home, schooling her kids. I’m more the one sitting in her audience, rolling my eyes at her insistence that raising competent kids comes from my waking at 5 am. I actually once shared in a small group at a homeschool meeting that we rarely woke up before 9 and a woman actually left to find a better small group to sit with!
